Why go organic?
Thousands of chemicals, pesticides and other toxic substances are used during the conventional manufacturing of cotton. These chemicals can be absorbed through the skin and as a result allergic reactions, eczema, or more serious reactions may occur. Using organic cotton helps to provide a comfortable, natural, eco-friendly way to live naturally.
How is organic good for the earth?
Conventional cotton farming is one of the most ecologically destructive field crops in the world. Millions, perhaps billions of pounds of pesticides, defoliants, herbicides and synthetic fertilizers are sprayed on cotton each year. These practices can harm our air, water, soil and have a negative impact on biodiversity. One quarter of the world's toxic insecticides are used just for growing conventional cotton.
Organic cotton is grown using methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment. Using organically grown cotton reduces the amount of toxic pesticides and fertilizer used. Organic farming is healthier and safer for our farmers, fieldworkers, and our communities. All cotton sold as organic in the USA must meet strict federal regulations covering how the cotton is grown.
How is organic good for baby?
Organic baby products are made without pesticides, fertilizers, antibiotics, growth hormones, genetically modified organisms, additives, irradiation or sewage sludge. There could be as many as 2,000 chemicals added to your baby's favorite blanket and it's possible that these toxins could jeopardize your baby's health. The textile industry uses thousands of different chemicals during conventional manufacturing of baby clothing and bedding products. These chemicals can be absorbed through your baby's skin and possibly cause skin irritations, rashes or more serious skin and health conditions. Give your precious ones a "silly, smart, eco-friendly start" from the beginning with products made with certified organic cotton.
